2016 Fall Forum

October 14, 2016

The McIntire School of Commerce and the Center for Global Commerce at the University of Virginia presented the 2016 Fall Forum: Europe at the Crossroads.

The European Union, conceived from the ashes of a war-torn continent nearly 70 years ago, today faces a collection of threats that might genuinely be termed existential. Record immigration, the evolving reality of Brexit, chronic levels of underemployment, stresses on the Euro, invigorated nationalism, and a range of governance challenges are all testing at least the contours, and perhaps the very existence of the Union. At McIntire’s 2016 Fall Forum, “Europe at the Crossroads,” we examined these issues and their implications for investors and industry in a series of dialogues with leading experts.
