What is your academic background and motivation for pursuing the M.S. in MIT degree?
I graduated with a B.S. in Computer Science and have been in the workforce for two years. While I enjoy IT, I can improve my technical skills through certificates. I chose to round out my toolbox with some management skills. That’s why I’m diving into the M.S. in MIT Program—it’s the perfect blend for my career goals.
What appealed to you the most about the M.S. in MIT Program?
I chose the McIntire M.S. in MIT Program because, being a UVA alum, I know they deliver an excellent education and community. I wanted to brush up on my leadership skills, and since I’m already in the tech field, this program is a perfect fit.
What are you looking forward to or have you enjoyed most so far in the M.S. in MIT Program?
I am looking forward to the Mendoza trip! It will be my first time visiting South America, engaging in international business, and presenting with a translator. I know it’s going to be a great time!
What are your interests and hobbies?
I enjoy studying Japanese. I just finished Attack on Titan! I recently became interested in cybersecurity due to this program and have become hooked on the “Darknet Diaries” podcast. I’m also highly interested in fitness. I ran my first half marathon last year and have been consistently lifting since high school.
Where is your favorite place you have traveled?
Hawaii stands out as my favorite destination. It’s so unique and beautiful. Plus, it’s where I first went skydiving and surfing.
What is your favorite thing to do during residencies?
The food is a highlight! I make sure to grab a snack between each class—it’s my secret to surviving these intense classes.
