What inspired you to pursue graduate study in global commerce, and what are your goals for the program?

After graduating with my bachelor’s degree, I felt that I lacked a lot of experience or certain skills. I felt that I would spend my time building my skills and trying a new experience. My goal during this program is to make the most of my experience and build myself in my professional career.

What courses or topics in global commerce are you most excited to explore during the program?

I am excited to learn about international consulting. All the real-life scenarios and solutions will be most helpful in completing our Social Impact Project. Learning more about the effects of global politics and AI technology will be interesting to apply in our project as well.

What drew you to the M.S. in Global Commerce Program at UVA McIntire?

It was between Virginia Tech and UVA for grad school. As much as I love my “Hokie Nation,” I knew I would regret not taking a chance on UVA. I was drawn by the objective of the program and the projects previous cohorts completed. To provide a solution on a global scale motivated me to take on this challenge and give this program everything I’ve got.

What are you most looking forward to as you begin the M.S. in Global Commerce Program?

I look forward to traveling abroad to Berlin, Germany. I have traveled to a few states and countries, but never anywhere across the Atlantic Ocean. I am excited learn new cultures and go on new adventures abroad.

What extracurriculars, clubs, or activities are you hoping to get involved with during your time here?

I am interested in learning some UVA lingo and traditional events to fully embrace the Wahoo spirit. I am on the committee for the Association of Latino Professionals For America (ALPFA) in Washington, DC. I would love to participate and network with ALPFA at UVA and other Latinx organizations.

What’s one place in Charlottesville (or on Grounds) you’re most excited to visit or explore?

Inka Grill. If you haven’t had Peruvian food, you are missing out! One of the best foods out there.
