What inspired you to pursue graduate study in commerce, and what are your goals for the program?
Coming from an economics background and playing football at Wake Forest, I learned how much I enjoy solving problems, working in teams, and pushing myself outside of my comfort zone. I wanted a program that would take that foundation and give me real business skills I could apply right away. My goal is to build a career in business where I can blend strategy, innovation, and leadership—and I saw McIntire as the best way to get there.
What courses or topics in commerce are you most excited to explore during the program?
I’m really looking forward to classes, the Brand Management & Strategy class as well as the Managerial View of AI class. I love the idea of learning how companies connect with people across different cultures and markets, and how they build brands that last.
What drew you to the M.S. in Commerce Program at UVA McIntire?
The one-year format immediately stood out—it’s fast, challenging, and very hands-on. I also felt the culture here was different: McIntire is collaborative, not cutthroat, and the alumni network is incredibly supportive. That combination made it an easy decision.
What are you most looking forward to as you begin the M.S. in Commerce Program?
Honestly, it’s the people. I’m excited to get to know classmates who come from all kinds of academic and personal backgrounds, and to learn just as much from them as I do from the professors.
What extracurriculars, clubs, or activities are you hoping to get involved with during your time here?
I’m interested in the entrepreneurship and innovation scene at UVA—things like the Galant Center and the Foundry. I’d also like to stay connected to athletics and wellness communities since performance and mindset are big passions of mine.
What’s one place in Charlottesville (or on Grounds) you’re most excited to visit or explore?
I can’t wait to check out the Corner and all the food spots around Grounds, and I’m definitely planning on spending time hiking in the Blue Ridge Mountains. And of course—game days at Scott Stadium.
