M.S. in Commerce 2025
What appealed to you about the M.S. in Commerce Program?
The web of connections and support, along with a furthered education in a more specified field, was attractive to me for furthering my education and giving me the competitive edge over my cohort when applying for jobs.
What are you looking forward to or have you enjoyed most so far in the M.S. in Commerce Program?
I have enjoyed the people in the program the most so far. Meeting all new friends who are a combination of UVA alumni and people from all over the country has been by far the best part of my journey. You spend so much time with the same group of people; making close connections has been a key part of why I’m enjoying this program so far.
What are your academic interests?
While I studied economics for my major, and am enrolled in the Finance Track, psychology has always been a key academic interest of mine. Understanding people and behaviors, and slotting this into my other interest of the market and money, is what spikes my academic curiosity.
What clubs and organizations were you involved with during undergrad?
During undergraduate, I was an avid member of Madison House volunteering for HelpLine, RunCharlottesville, Special Olympics, and Meals on Wheals. I as also a member of Leadership Academy and member of the varsity UVA Swimming & Diving team for my entire undergrad.
What are your hobbies?
While swimming has always been my main hobby, all exercises, in general, I always love to try. I also recently got into gardening and growing my own herbs.
Name three places on your bucket list to travel to and why.
I have always wanted to travel to India, as curry is my favorite dish, and I would love to try India’s cuisine. I also want to visit Switzerland. I want to go there in the summer, as opposed for skiing, as the Swiss Alps during the summertime are known for their hikes, cycle rides, and breathtaking views. Finally, Hong Kong is on my bucket list for the cultural experiences. I find Hong Kong to have such diverse ways of life compared to mine, and am intrigued to try something very different.
What is your favorite restaurant, coffee shop, or place to visit in Charlottesville?
My favorite place in Charlottesville is Pro Re Nata. I really enjoy the inside/outside vibe with cornhole and live music. I think it’s a welcoming place for all people. The food and drinks are also 10/10!
