What inspired you to pursue graduate study in commerce, and what are your goals for the program?
I’m pursuing the M.S. in Commerce to build upon my undergraduate studies and position myself at the intersection of science and business. Leveraging my biology and economics backgrounds, I hope to expand my business knowledge and merge these two disciplines through the business of biotechnology.
What courses or topics in commerce are you most excited to explore during the program?
I’m enjoying our case studies in Strategy, especially the Trader Joe’s case, which I now think about when grocery shopping. I’m excited for the Biotechnology Track courses, specifically those related to clinical trials and drug design.
What drew you to the M.S. in Commerce Program at UVA McIntire?
McIntire’s smaller class sizes and emphasis on teamwork drew me to the M.S. in Commerce Program. Coming from many large undergraduate lectures, the collaborative environment has been refreshing and engaging.
What are you most looking forward to as you begin the M.S. in Commerce Program?
I’m excited to continue meeting our class and for the Global Immersion Experience in the spring!
What extracurriculars, clubs, or activities are you hoping to get involved with during your time here?
I was involved with VISAS during my undergrad at UVA, and I hope to continue assisting with ESL graduate classes. I’ve hiked Ragged Mountain and the Blue Ridge Tunnel and hope to explore more nature spots in Charlottesville.
What’s one place in Charlottesville (or on Grounds) you’re most excited to visit or explore?
I love going to concerts at The Southern Café and Music Hall and grabbing coffee and pastries at Cou Cou Rachou!
