What inspired you to pursue graduate study in commerce, and what are your goals for the program?

I applied to the M.S. in Commerce Program because I was interested in pursuing graduate work in the field of business analytics that would allow me to broaden my academic horizons, mature my understanding of global business operations, engage with a rigorous and enriching curriculum. I also sought to bond with a diverse and academically inclined community, create pathways to connect with unique companies and established alumni, and become a proud Cavalier!

What courses or topics in commerce are you most excited to explore during the program?

I am excited to learn more about strategic brand consulting and database management systems!

What drew you to the M.S. in Commerce Program at UVA McIntire?

The curriculum for my bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering Technology taught me how to think critically, and I thoroughly enjoyed learning how to utilize engineering design processes to solve technical problems … but when I began envisioning my post-undergraduate life, I knew I was seeking an academic space that would allow me to broaden my horizons and expand my understanding of large-scale business operations. I was drawn to the fantastic M.S. in Commerce Program at McIntire because I believe the program’s rigorous curriculum and supportive community will allow me to become the best version of myself, as an aspiring businessperson and as a human being.

What are you most looking forward to as you begin the M.S. in Commerce Program?

I look forward to connecting with dedicated faculty, staff, and administrators, supportive alumni, motivated peers, and prospective employers.

What extracurriculars, clubs, or activities are you hoping to get involved with during your time here?

I hope to get involved with organizations that allow me to serve the Charlottesville area with meaningful community service ventures.

What’s one place in Charlottesville (or on Grounds) you’re most excited to visit or explore?

Charlottesville is a dynamic and bustling city that has so much to offer–I am excited to drink Grit coffee, eat Bodo’s bagels, hike Humpback Rocks, watch a sunrise from the Lawn, cheer at sporting events, stroll around the Corner, and learn new UVA traditions.
