Why Promotions?

I chose Promotions because the class combines business strategy with creativity. Ever since this class was advertised to my COMM 1800 class in the spring of my first year, I couldn’t wait to apply. I am also very excited about the competition aspect of the class, as I never thought a college class could compete against other college classes.

Relevant work experience?

This past summer, I interned at Allen & Gerritsen, an integrated advertising agency in Boston. I got to learn all about a lot of the skills we’re currently learning, including discovering insights from human truths and writing creative briefs. I got to learn specifically about each of the nine departments: Strategy, Media, Analytics, Creative, Public Relations, Business Leadership, Project Management, Customer Experience, and User Experience.

Microsoft Office Suite, Smartsheet (project management software), Miro, Canva, Final Cut Pro

Extracurricular activities?

-Pi Kappa Phi fraternity
-Delta Sigma Pi Professional Business Fraternity

Career aspiration?

I would love to work as a brand strategist somewhere in New York City. After working at an advertising agency, I realized my favorite part of advertising is the strategy behind each advertisement the company makes for their clients. I love figuring out those “aha” consumer insights that then turn into a full-fledged strategy that the creatives can then use to work their magic.
