Why Promotions?

I first learned about Promotions when members of the 2021-2022 class shared their campaign with my COMM 1800 section. I found their campaign so impressive and professional looking. From then on, I wanted to join the class to be a part of a driven group of students and create something amazing.

Relevant work experience?

At UVA, I have designed and managed social media content for SWAP and the Cavalier Marching Band. I also work as the newsletter editor for UVA’s Department of Music.

Relevant skill set?

– Adobe Creative Suite
– Social media management
– Public speaking
– Leadership

Extracurricular activities?

– President and Founder, SWAP @ UVA
– Tour guide, University Guide Service
– Tutor, Community Lab School

Career aspiration?

If money were no object, I’d start my own thrift store. I do similar work now with SWAP, UVA’s sustainable fashion club. It would be fun to run a small business while promoting access to secondhand clothes.

Unfortunately, money is very much an object, so I might need to work and save some money first. I’ll ideally work somewhere community-facing after college where I can help others and make their lives easier.
