Student Profile: Olivia Holland (A&S ’21), Social Media Intern

The fourth-year UVA student shares why she loves the MBI program.

Olivia HollandMy name is Olivia, and I am a fourth-year majoring in American Studies and double minoring in Entrepreneurship and History. I am a very creative person and spend the majority of my free time painting artwork and formulating the perfect ranch dressing recipe. While this academic year has been a weird one, I have loved being back in Charlottesville, exploring all of the local outdoor venues with my friends.

I chose to participate in the MBI: Business Fundamentals Certificate to gain practical business skills that would better prepare me for my post-graduate career. So far, I have absolutely loved the MBI program! The faculty teach an engaging curriculum, and our career specialist provides us with invaluable career insights. The class community is nothing but supportive, and it is evident that the faculty are invested in each student’s success.

Working as the MBI Social Media Intern this year has so far been an amazing experience. This position has given me the opportunity to develop my communication, marketing, and digital design skills. If I had to pick my favorite part of the job, it would be designing graphics for the MBI Instagram account. I also love interacting with our social media audiences and speaking with current MBI students about their experience. I am honored that I am able to represent McIntire and thankful for all of the new experiences and skills I am gaining through this role.

I am excited to continue updating our audiences on the happenings of MBI, so be sure to follow our Instagram account, or connect with me on LinkedIn or by email if you have any questions!
