McIntire alumna Emily Brockway co-founded travel startup Noken to help people explore new countries for the first time, providing an end-to-end curated experience with recommendations for Iceland, Portugal, and Japan.

As she revealed to us earlier this year, the company closed its seed-round funding and has been focusing its efforts on building brand awareness while growing the number of countries the app supports. In its most recent round led by Bessemer Venture Partners, Noken raised $2.5 million, totaling more than $3 million for the booking, planning, and real-time guide.

Her fellow Co-Founder, Marc Escapa, recently appeared on Yahoo! Finance’s “Morning Meeting” to explain the app in greater detail, discussing how the startup is solving a common problem facing would-be vacationers and refining travel by better catering to their target audience’s greatest needs.
