McIntire Class of ’21 Alumni Sam Lisner and Jeannie Hirsch Quoted in Poets&Quants

Jeannie Hirsch and Samuel Lisner

Commerce School alumni Sam Lisner and Jeannie Hirsch have been quoted in a recent article on business education website Poets&Quants for Undergrads.

The piece, titled “15 Biggest Lessons from Business School,” draws on the experiences of the two 2021 McIntire graduates, who were named to the publication’s Best and Brightest Business Majors list last spring.

Lisner’s quote serves as the basis for lesson #2: “Anyone can be helpful.” The Deloitte Consulting Analyst discusses the importance of learning from his classmates and explains that studying business taught him to be attentive to finding instructive opportunities that can come from unexpected places.

Hirsch weighs in on lesson #4: “Incorporate multiple perspectives.” Noting the Commerce School’s multidisciplinary approach, as promoted through the structure of its hallmark Integrated Core Experience program, the Private Equity Analyst at Warburg Pincus points out how team members with expertise in different disciplines can create stronger solutions through collaboration.
