Black History Month: McIntire Alumni Cecil White and Solomon Hailu in an Inspiring Conversation

In this insightful chat, Hailu and White recount their individual career journeys that first connected them on Grounds as roommates who joined the Black Commerce Student Network together to the disruption they’ve navigated in their current positions as successful change makers in their respective careers.

In honor of Black History Month, we’re recognizing the contributions of Black McIntire community members who have made a positive impact on both the Commerce School and society. We recently welcomed two such standout alumni who were named to the prestigious Forbes 30 Under 30 list for 2021: Solomon Hailu (McIntire ’15) and Cecil White (McIntire ’15).

In this insightful chat moderated by Professor Amanda Cowen, Hailu and White recount their individual career journeys that first connected them on Grounds as roommates who joined the Black Commerce Student Network together to the disruption they’ve navigated in their current positions as successful change makers in their respective careers: Hailu as Vice President at venture capital firm March Capital and White as an Agent at sports agency William Morris Endeavor (WME).
