Introducing the M.S. in Accounting GCOM Council

Every M.S. in Accounting class elects peers to represent them on the Graduate Commerce (GCOM) Council.

There are two branches of the GCOM Council: an M.S. in Accounting branch and an M.S. in Commerce branch. Together, they sponsor educational, social, community, and cultural activities while building a sense of community among students, faculty, and staff. They also facilitate interactions between the students and greater Charlottesville community.

Goal: My biggest goal for this year is to bring people together despite the boundaries of our current circumstances. Having interactions with each other as a class is how we will remember our experience here, so it is vital that we can be together.

Favorite Part So Far: My favorite part is the diverse group of individuals in the program. We have people from different backgrounds and experiences. Then, we are asked to work together in teams, which is an experience that will apply to all of our careers.
