Center for Real Estate Alumni Networking Reception in NYC

April 11, 2024

On Thursday, April 11, 2024, UVA alumni and other friends of the White Ruffin Byron Center for Real Estate gathered in Manhattan for a reception hosted at the Savoy Club, located in the historic GM Building adjacent to Central Park.  Our event was timed to coincide with the final day of the nearby ULI Spring Meeting  and brought nearly 100 alumni and Center for Real Estate Advisory Board members together with UVA faculty and staff.

Center Executive Director Keven Lindemann (A&S ’91) and Advisory Board member Robert Byron (A&S ’73, Law ’76) welcomed the gathered attendees before introducing the evening’s guest speaker, Architect for the University Alice Raucher, who gave a special presentation about the current development projects taking place along the Emmet/Ivy Corridor, which includes the School of Data Science, a hotel and conference center, and a proposed performing arts center. As part of the University’s master plan, this corridor provides a critical link between Central Grounds and North Grounds.

The Center expresses our immense gratitude to Owen Thomas (Engineering ’83), Chairman and CEO of BXP and member of the Center’s Advisory Board, for again hosting our signature spring alumni gathering, and to Alice Raucher for making the trip to New York to share her expertise and insights with our network.
