Center for Real Estate Alumni Networking Reception in NYC

April 11, 2024

On Thursday, April 11, 2024, UVA alumni gathered in Midtown Manhattan for a reception hosted by the White Ruffin Byron Center for Real Estate at Savoy Club, located in the historic GM Building on Central Park. Nearly 100 alumni and Center for Real Estate Advisory Board members attended evening event.

Center Executive Director Keven Lindemann (A&S ’91) and Advisory Board member Robert Byron (A&S ’73, Law ’76) welcomed the attendees before introducing the evening’s guest speaker, Architect for the University Alice Raucher, who gave a special presentation about the current development projects taking place along the Emmet/Ivy Corridor, which includes the School of Data Science, a hotel and conference center, and a proposed performing arts center. As part of the University’s master plan, this corridor provides a critical link between Central Grounds and North Grounds.

The Center expresses our immense gratitude to Owen Thomas (Engineering ’83), Chairman and CEO of BXP and member of the Center’s Advisory Board, for hosting us, and to Raucher for making the trip to New York to meet with our great alumni.
