Careers in Finance Conference 2019

McIntire’s 2019 Careers in Finance Conference helped UVA students understand the wide variety of financial career opportunities available and to discover which area is of special interest to them.
The conference kicked off Nov. 14 with a keynote introduction to finance by McIntire’s Peter Maillet, Associate Dean for Global Affairs, Director of the Center for Global Commerce, and Professor of Commerce. CIF continued Nov. 15 with firm-led educational sessions, a networking luncheon, and a young professionals panel.
The conference featured presentations by senior executives from a select group of corporate sponsors who each speak on a designated topic, such as:
- Private wealth management
- Independent financial advisory
- Asset and investment management
- Private equity
- Markets and fintech
- Large-scale investment banking: advising, underwriting, and financing
