Careers in Analytics

The Center for Business Analytics (CBA) and Commerce Career Services (CCS) co-hosted the first annual “Careers in Analytics” event on Friday, August 28, 2020, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. EDT via Zoom.  The event was open to all UVA students and recent graduates and attracted more than 250 registrants, with approximately 190 able to attend the event live.

The program began with a 45-minute panel discussion on the “Business of Analytics” moderated by CBA Director and McIntire Associate Dean for Business Analytics, Trey Maxham and featuring CBA members Arun Balasubramanian, BSC ’10 from EY, Kristin Moody from Analytic Partners, and Michelle Snyder, BSC ’92 from Pfizer.   A recording of the panel discussion is embedded below.

Following the panel, students were able to attend industry-specific breakout rooms for interactive discussion and Q&A with alumni and friends from Amazon, CapTech Ventures, CarMax, Disney, IDC, Ipsos, and Netflix.  Recordings of the breakout rooms are available upon request, please email aem8z@comm.virginia.edu.
