2022 Fall Conference

On Nov. 11, 2022, the Center hosted its inaugural Fall Conference. Nearly 200 attendees, comprising current UVA students, alumni, faculty, and friends from across Grounds and the real estate community, attended to hear from industry experts, network, and participate in “flash mentoring” with students. During the event, Blue Vista Capital Chairman, Co-CEO, and Co-Founder Robert Byron (A&S ’73, Law ’76) was recognized as the first recipient of the Center’s Distinguished Alumni Award. The honor was conferred by McIntire School Dean Nicole Thorne Jenkins, who revealed that, going forward, the accolade will now be known as the Center for Real Estate and the Built Environment Robert G. Byron Distinguished Alumni Award, in recognition of his extraordinary efforts leading to the Center’s formation.
