The M.S. in Commerce Class of 2019 saw strong career outcomes, with an overall job placement rate of 98% within six months of graduation, a 5% increase over the previous year’s class. International students saw a job placement rate of 90% with 68% placing outside of their home country.

International students saw a job placement rate of 90%, with 68% placing outside of their home country. These incredible outcomes can be attributed to the hard work and dedication of the Commerce Career Services (CCS) team, who provide students with high-touch and personalized career support. CCS welcomes 300+ recruiting companies to Grounds each year and hosts numerous events like Commerce Career Day, the Business Analytics Colloquium, Careers in Marketing Forum, and Careers in Finance Forum. They also lead recruiting trips to Washington, D.C., New York, and San Francisco for those interested in finance, marketing, and technology. Historically, more than 70% of jobs are facilitated through CCS and the McIntire, adding immediate value to the M.S. in Commerce degree and network.

Students, regardless of track, are welcome to attend all of these events. CCS also runs an Employer-In-Residence Program, which allows students to connect on a deeper level with potential employers through networking nights, mock interviews, and resume reviews. Companies have included AB inBev, Accenture, Bank of America, Capital One, Carnival, Cvent, General Mills, PwC, Walmart eCommerce, and many others.

The Economist ranked the M.S. in Commerce #1 “Master’s in Management” in the U.S. and #6 in the world in 2019. Other high marks in the ranking include worldwide ratings of #2 for education experience, #2 for career services, and #4 for salary.
