What was your most memorable class and why?
In the second semester, the Finance track took a class focusing specifically on IT and finance. I really enjoyed learning more about the role that technology plays in financial markets and how portfolio valuation programs work. My favorite part of the class was the end-of-the-year competition in which we used all the methods learned to determine our individual portfolio values.

How did Commerce Career Services (CCS) help you in the job search?
CCS really helped me hone my skills and figure out exactly what I wanted to do. My journey after graduation was a little different because I wanted to explore opportunities in America first. About 6-7 months later, I decided to take a job in England, but I would encourage all incoming students to take advantage of the great resources available through CCS.

How has McIntire prepared you for professional success?
I think that McIntire provides the essential business skills needed to succeed after graduation. The program does a great job of balancing track-specific courses with non-track courses that interrelate with each other. Make sure you take advantage of the courses outside of your track, as they will help you in your professional life.

Have you been able to leverage your UVA degree or network on the job?
Being a McIntire grad in London, I’ve been able to connect with fellow Wahoos through the London UVA Alumni Club. I remember staying up until 3 a.m., watching the NCAA basketball national championship last year with coworkers who went to UVA as well. The McIntire network is so strong, and the relationships you make throughout your time there are invaluable.

What do you enjoy most about your job?
I love that I’m involved in such large corporate decisions as a 24-year-old. Currently, I’m working on a merger with Grubhub and LetsEat, two worldwide companies. It’s great to make such an impact at the beginning of my career.

What advice do you have for future students in the program?
I’d say cherish the moments with your new friends and really appreciate Charlottesville. Also, I’d make an effort to get connected with everyone you meet through CCS, classes, or social events. The relationships you make at McIntire will take you far in life.

What is your favorite Charlottesville activity?
I enjoyed going on hikes and going to breweries.

What is your favorite place to eat in Charlottesville?
I always loved going to Trinity and getting their Philly cheesesteak.

What do you do in your spare time?
I love getting together with fellow UVA alum to watch UVA basketball. I also like playing soccer and traveling when I get the chance.
