What inspired you to pursue graduate study in commerce, and what are your goals for the program?
My long-term goal is to build a career in wealth management. I want to help clients make informed decisions that align with their goals while also learning how to use AI as a tool to enhance—not replace—the human relationships at the heart of the industry. The M.S. in Commerce, particularly the Finance Track, will give me the technical knowledge and interpersonal skills I need to serve clients thoughtfully and effectively.
What courses or topics in commerce are you most excited to explore during the program?
I’m excited to deepen my technical skills in finance through courses like Asset Management and Financial Trading Analytics. I look forward to learning how to evaluate portfolios, assess risks, and advise clients effectively, while also building expertise in business intelligence and automation—skills that are increasingly important as AI shapes the business world.
What drew you to the M.S. in Commerce Program at UVA McIntire?
Two things stood out to me: the Integrated Core Experience, which gives students a well-rounded understanding of all business areas, and the program’s strong global perspective through the Global Immersion Experience. I also wanted to be part of a program that emphasizes collaboration, teamwork, and professional development alongside technical skills.
What are you most looking forward to as you begin the M.S. in Commerce Program?
I am really looking forward to building meaningful connections with my peers, learning from professors who are leaders in their fields, and challenging myself to grow both professionally and personally.
What extracurriculars, clubs, or activities are you hoping to get involved with during your time here?
I am part of Towards a Better Latin America, a club that helps raise funds for NGOs and nonprofits in Latin America.
What’s one place in Charlottesville (or on Grounds) you’re most excited to visit or explore?
I love going on runs at the Rivanna River Trail and getting breakfast and coffee at Guajiros after.
