What inspired you to pursue graduate study in accounting, and what are your goals for the program?

I was a Finance major in undergrad but accepted a job in accounting, so I wanted to deepen my knowledge in the field. I also wanted structured time to prepare for the CPA and the chance to grow my network.

What courses or topics in accounting are you most excited to explore during the program?

I’m especially excited for Tax Research since I’ll be working in international tax after graduation. It’s a subject I find interesting, and it will help me prepare for my career.

What drew you to the M.S. in Accounting Program at UVA McIntire?

What stood out to me about UVA’s program is how it goes beyond technical accounting knowledge. Unlike many programs that focus mainly on the CPA exam, UVA places a strong emphasis on building skills in networking, communication, and leadership that prepare you for a well-rounded career.

What are you most looking forward to as you begin the M.S. in Accounting Program?

Having spent my undergrad at Clemson University, I’m most excited to meet a new group of people from across the country and around the world. I really value building connections, and I can’t wait to form both professional and personal relationships at UVA.

What extracurriculars, clubs, or activities are you hoping to get involved with during your time here?

I’d love to join intramurals, stay active as an alumna in my business fraternity, and possibly get involved with class council for the master’s program.

What’s one place in Charlottesville (or on Grounds) you’re most excited to visit or explore?

I can’t wait to spend time reading on the Lawn. One of my best friends even gave me a book specifically for that!
