CIFM Professional Speaker Series – Spring 2025

The spring 2025 semester featured three CIFM Professional Speaker Series events aimed at connecting students with UVA alumni and finance professionals to discuss trending topics affecting global markets.

In late January, Josh Tarasoff, Founder and General Partner of Greenlea Lane Capital Partners, came to the McIntire School to discuss his approach to being a long-term value investor.

This event was co-sponsored by the Gayner Family Sustainable Investment Fund club.

On Tuesday, April 8, CIFM hosted Geoff Rubin (A&S ’90), Senior Managing Director, One Fund Strategist, CPP Investments to discuss the firm’s investment approach followed by the role of commercial real estate and infrastructure in the portfolio.

The final CIFM Professional Speaker Series event was held on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 and featured Andriy Shapowal (McIntire ’98), CIO and Alan Payne (A&S ’18, McIntire ’19), Investment Associate, who spoke about how they manage liquidity in Investure’s portfolio.
