What did you study as an undergraduate, and what prompted you to pursue graduate study in accounting?

My undergraduate degree was in Commerce, with concentrations in Accounting and Finance. I pursued my M.S. in Accounting at McIntire for a few reasons. I wanted to improve my technical accounting ability and knowledge base. Another reason was that I had such a great experience during my undergraduate studies at McIntire. I was familiar with the Accounting professors and saw their brilliance and how much they valued my learning.

What are your academic interests?

My current academic interests include accounting and finance, especially the deal and valuation side. I’m also quite interested in art history, mathematics, and philosophy.

What courses are you most looking forward to in the M.S. in Accounting Program?

I’m excited about the courses Accounting for Decision Making and Control, Federal Taxation, and Ethics in Accounting. I believe these classes will enable me to be a more effective and well-rounded professional while also being interesting topics.

What do you enjoy most about the M.S. in Accounting Program?

I’ve enjoyed getting to know my peers and professors in a close and collaborative environment where everyone is trying to help each other succeed.

What extracurricular activities are you involved with?

I’m currently involved with the McIntire Ambassadors program and am a TA for an undergraduate Finance class. Outside of class, I like to hike, read, and hang out with friends.

What is your favorite restaurant, coffee shop, or place to visit in Charlottesville?

If you like Thai food, I strongly recommend Monsoon Siam, or if you like Korean fusion food, check out Umma’s!
