What appealed to you about the M.S. in Commerce Program?

During my undergraduate studies in Kinesiology at UVA, where I was on the pre-physician assistant track, I developed a newfound passion for innovation and development within the medical field. While I’ve always been drawn to a career in medicine, the prospect of combining it with business sparked my interest even further. The M.S. in Commerce Program, particularly with its Biotechnology Track, provides the perfect blend of these two areas, allowing me to explore the business side of healthcare and leverage my background to drive meaningful advancements in the industry.

What are you looking forward to or have you enjoyed most so far in the M.S. in Commerce Program?

I’ve enjoyed embracing a new way of learning through a business mindset, which has challenged me to think differently and approach problems with fresh perspectives. I’ve also built new friendships, where we’ve supported each other throughout the program and explored Charlottesville together.

What are your academic interests?

My academic interests include medicine, drug delivery systems, vaccines, and pharmaceuticals. I’m interested in how these fields intersect to drive innovation in healthcare and improve patient outcomes.

What clubs and organizations were you involved with during undergrad?

I was a member of the UVA Women’s Swimming and Diving team for all four years of undergrad, serving as a captain for two of those years. I was also a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Club and volunteered with both the Special Olympics and the Boys and Girls Club.

What are your hobbies?

My hobbies include hanging out with my friends, cooking, working out and pickleball.

Name three places on your bucket list to travel to and why.

2. Greece: I love Greek food, and I want to try authentic Greek food, as well as see the beautiful water and architecture.
