Leading in a Connected World ∞ April 25, 2008

April 25, 2008

MIT members were invited to McIntire’s annual Spring Symposium titled “Leading in a Connected World.” The program featured McIntire Professor Rob Cross and a panel of experts.

After the Symposium, CMIT hosted its own program, “The Economics of Innovation in a Connected World: Managing to Improve Net Value,” featuring Michael Schrage.

As global competition increases and customers grow more demanding, the pressure to productively innovate and differentiate intensifies. Organizations need to rethink how they invest in and manage innovation. The rise of digital media and the connected world fundamentally has transformed the economics of innovation for both individuals and enterprises. The role that digital models, prototypes, and simulations can and should play in “innovation risk management” was the focus of this talk; examples ranged from Apple to Tesco to Procter & Gamble.

Speakers

Robert L. Cross, Associate Professor of Commerce, McIntire School of Commerce
